- Clothing - what must a pilgrim pack for their WYD pilgrimage? What can't you live without? I don't think you can take everything so what items are essential.
- Travel gadgets - do you need a torch, a towel, water bottle? should we pack a sleeping pillow? there are so many travel gadgets which are worth taking?
- Brands - What are the brands that you have found to be reliable and worth the cost? We all know we need a good pair of shoes but get specific - what brands will you be wearing?
- Luggage - what type of luggage will you be taking? Are you a backpack or a trolley case person? Do you have a day pack to recommend?
- Bible - what type of bible will you be taking? What style would you recommend to other pilgrims?
The more comments we get the better our packing list can be.
Luggage - When I went into Strand bags, the shop assistant said that whilst they sell a large range, all the workers buy the Skyways brand. Look for well supported wheels, if the wheels hang off one pin they can break and rub against the case.
ReplyDeleteI find that it was easier to get a good bible that I like then get a bible cover to protect it. Some of the travel bibles were a little small. I found that I still had to carry a note book anyway so the bible cover fitted both plus a pen.
ReplyDeleteWhat size wheelie bag are we allowed to take? Isnt a large case better than trying to cram everything into a small case and a back pack + it wont be heavy because you are wheeling it.
ReplyDeleteI would aim for a 55-65cm suitcase, do not get the bigger 75cm case. If you are going for volume get a 60 litre case not much bigger than that.
ReplyDeleteWhen you leave Australia don't use the expansion capacity of your suitcase, then you can expand it to take home extra souvenirs.
Also remember that many European hotels have stairs, so case you carry the case up a flight of stairs? A man is encouraged to carry less than 20 kilos and a woman 15kilos. there is a 20 kilo baggage limit.
